When we create your medical record, we always obtain your consent to collect and share information about your medical condition and other confidential information with other healthcare providers. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Processing of Information

In connection with Private Nurse’s care of you as a patient, Private Nurse collects and processes a range of personal information about you. In addition, Private Nurse collects and processes information about you that is used to customize and improve Private Nurse content, maintain security, and enhance the value of the services Private Nurse offers you. If you do not want this information to be collected, you should delete your cookies and refrain from further use of the websites.

Disclosure of Personal Information

To the extent necessary for your specific examination or treatment, your personal information will be disclosed and shared with the following recipients:

• Information is shared with other healthcare professionals if necessary for the purposes of a current course of treatment.
• Information is disclosed to other authorities, clinical quality databases, the Danish Vaccination Registry, the Danish Patient Safety Authority, the Shared Medication Record, the police, social services, and the Danish Labor Market Insurance to the extent that such disclosure is required by applicable law.
• As a patient, you have access to your own information (self-access)
• When patients are referred, information is shared with the healthcare professionals to whom the referral is sent.
• When reporting information related to billing for patient treatment, the information is forwarded to the regional billing offices.
• When discharge summaries are shared, information is provided to the patient’s own doctor or the referring doctor and, in certain cases, to the receiving or referring hospital.
• In other cases, information is disclosed to family members or insurance companies.

Anonymous data about your use of the website, the ads you see and, if applicable, click on, your geographic location, etc., is shared with third parties to the extent that this information is available. You can see which third parties are involved further up on this page. The information is used for targeted advertising. We do not share or use your health information for advertising or marketing purposes.

 

Legal Basis for the Processing and Disclosure of Personal Information

The legal basis for collecting, processing, and disclosing your personal information is:

• For the purposes of general patient care, general personal data is collected, processed, and disclosed pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) and (d) of the General Data Protection Regulation, while sensitive personal data is collected, processed, and disclosed pursuant to Article 9(2)(c) and (h) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
• In addition, we are required to process certain personal information about you in the course of routine patient care pursuant to Chapter 6 of the Authorization Act, the Executive Order on Health Care Professionals’ Medical Records (the Medical Records Executive Order)—specifically Sections 5–10—and Chapter 9 of the Health Care Act.
• Medical information intended for use in the further treatment of referred patients is disclosed in accordance with the provisions of Sections 20–23 of the Agreement on Specialist Medical Care and the Health Care Act.
• The reporting of laboratory samples to hospital laboratories is carried out in accordance with the rules set forth in the Danish Health Authority’s guidelines on the handling of paraclinical examinations pursuant to the Authorization Act.
• Information required for billing for patient care is submitted once a month to the region’s billing office in accordance with the provisions of Section 49 of the Agreement on Specialist Medical Care and the Health Act.
• Prescriptions for medications are transmitted via the IT service “Receptserveren” in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 42 of the Health Act and the Executive Order on Prescriptions and Dose Dispensing of Medicines, specifically Chapter 3.
• Clinical patient data is disclosed to clinical quality databases in accordance with the provisions of Sections 195–196 of the Health Act and the Executive Order on the Reporting of Information to Clinical Quality Databases, etc. Data may also be disclosed based on specific consent from you as a patient.
• Discharge summaries—which are brief summaries of a patient’s medical history and course of treatment—are sent to the patient’s primary care physician or referring physician and, in some cases, to the receiving or referring hospital, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9 of the Health Care Act.
• Your personal data will be disclosed to insurance companies only with your prior consent, in accordance with Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
• Your personal information will be disclosed only to your next of kin with your prior consent, in accordance with the provisions of Section 43 of the Health Act.
• In the case of deceased patients, certain personal data may be disclosed to the deceased’s next of kin, the deceased’s general practitioner, and the physician who was treating the deceased, in accordance with the provisions of Section 45 of the Health Act. 

 

Withdrawal of Consent 

If the processing of your personal data is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, this does not affect the processing that took place prior to the withdrawal of consent, including any disclosure based on consent. 

 

Use of Data Processors

Your personal data is processed and stored by our data processors, who store it on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. Our data processors are currently

We retain personal information about you for as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes stated above. However, in accordance with the Record-Keeping Order, we are required to retain this information for at least 5 years after the most recent entry was made in the record. There may be instances where we are required to retain your personal data for a longer period, such as in connection with a complaint or a claim for damages; in such cases, the data will be retained until the matter is finally resolved.
