All nurses have a duty of confidentiality. This includes the information they gain access to during the care and treatment of their clients. Information of a health-related as well as more private nature, including relationships, finances and more.

In our medical records, we always obtain your consent to obtain and share information about your health conditions and other confidential information with other healthcare providers. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

All personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations

Processing of data

In connection with Private Nurse's treatment of you as a patient, Private Nurse collects and processes a number of personal data about you. In addition, Private Nurse collects and processes information about you that is used to customize and improve Private Nurse content, maintain security and to increase the value of the services Private Nurse offers you. If you do not want information to be collected, you should delete your cookies and refrain from further use of websites.

This privacy policy describes how Private Nurse processes, uses and discloses personal data.

 

Types of information

Private Nurse collects and processes the following types of information about you to the extent that it is relevant to you.

Common categories of personal data:

• A unique ID and technical information about your computer, tablet or mobile phone, your IP number, geographical location and which pages you visit. To the extent that you explicitly consent to this and enter the information yourself, it is also processed.
• Name, address, email address, phone number, social security number, gender, family and social relations and education and payment information.

• Health data (e.g. medical records, test results, tests, x-rays, scans, etc.), sexual orientation, race or ethnic origin and religious beliefs.

• Communication with or referral to other healthcare professionals, doctors, hospitals or hospital laboratories.
• Communication with you.
  • We also use your information to send you administrative emails and important notifications about activity on your account. You cannot unsubscribe from these messages.
  • We occasionally send emails about new functionalities or other news. You can always unsubscribe from these emails.
  • Comply with our obligations under applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act and other relevant health legislation, e.g.

Volunteering

When we collect personal data directly from you, you provide the personal data voluntarily. You are not obliged to provide this personal data to us. The consequence of not providing the personal data will be that we cannot fulfill the purposes above, including in some cases not being able to investigate or treat you.

 

Sources

In some cases, we collect personal data about you from other healthcare providers, e.g. hospitals, referring doctor etc. We process the information received in accordance with this privacy policy.

 

Disclosure of personal data

To the extent necessary for the specific examination or treatment of you, your personal data will be disclosed and shared with the following recipients:

• Information is disclosed to other healthcare professionals if it is necessary for a current course of treatment.
• Information is disclosed to other authorities, clinical quality databases, the Danish Vaccination Register, the Danish Patient Safety Authority, the Shared Medicine Card, the police, social authorities and the Labor Market Insurance to the extent that there is an obligation to do so under applicable law.
• As a patient, you have access to your own information (self-access)
• When referring patients, information is passed on to the healthcare professionals to whom the referral is sent.
• When reporting information in connection with billing for patient treatment, information is passed on to the regional billing offices.
• When transmitting discharge summaries, information is passed on to your own/referring doctor and in some cases the receiving/referring hospital.
• In other cases, information is passed on to relatives or insurance companies.

Anonymous data about your use of the website, which ads you receive and possibly click on and your geographical location etc. is disclosed to third parties to the extent that this information is known. You can see which third parties are involved further up. The information is used to target advertising. We do not disclose or use your health information for advertising or marketing purposes.

 

Legal basis for processing and disclosure of personal data

The legal basis for collecting, processing and disclosing your personal data is:

• For the purpose of general patient treatment, general personal data is collected, processed and disclosed pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) and (d) of the GDPR, while sensitive personal data is collected, processed and disclosed pursuant to Article 9(2)(c) and (h) of the GDPR.
• In addition, we are obliged to process a number of personal data about you in the ordinary treatment of patients pursuant to Chapter 6 of the Danish Authorization Act, the Executive Order on Health Professionals' Medical Records (the Executive Order on Medical Records), especially §§ 5-10, and Chapter 9 of the Danish Health Act.
• Health information for the purpose of further treatment when referring patients is disclosed in accordance with the rules in the agreement on specialist medical care §§ 20-23, and the Danish Health Act.
• Laboratory samples are reported to hospital laboratories in accordance with the rules in the Danish Health Authority's guidelines on the handling of paraclinical examinations under the Authorization Act.
• Information for billing for patient treatment is sent once a month to the region's billing office in accordance with the rules in section 49 of the Agreement on specialist medical care and the Danish Health Act.
• Prescriptions are sent via the IT service prescription server according to the rules in chapter 42 of the Danish Health Act and the executive order on prescriptions and dosage dispensing of medicines, especially chapter 3.
• Clinical patient data is disclosed to clinical quality databases in accordance with the rules in sections 195-196 of the Danish Health Act and the executive order on reporting information to clinical quality databases etc. Data can also be disclosed on the basis of a specific consent from you as a patient.
• Epicrises, which are a brief summary of the patient's medical history and course of treatment, are sent to the patient's own/referring doctor and in some cases to the receiving/referring hospital according to the rules in Chapter 9 of the Health Act.
• Your personal data will only be disclosed to insurance companies with your prior consent, cf. Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a) of the GDPR.
• Your personal data will only be disclosed to your relatives with your prior consent in accordance with the rules in section 43 of the Danish Health Act.
• In the case of deceased patients, certain personal data may be disclosed to the deceased's next of kin, the deceased's general practitioner and the doctor who had the deceased under treatment according to the rules in section 45 of the Health Act. 

 

Withdrawal of consent 

If the processing of your personal data is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw consent. If you withdraw consent, it will not affect the processing prior to the withdrawal of consent, including a disclosure based on consent. 

 

Use of data processors

Your personal data is processed and stored by our data processors who store it on our behalf and on our instructions. Our data processors are currently

We store personal data about you for as long as we need to fulfill the purposes stated above. However, according to the Danish Executive Order on Record Keeping, we are obliged to store your personal data for a minimum of 5 years after the last entry in the journal. There may be cases where we need to store your personal data for a longer period of time, e.g. in connection with a complaint or compensation case, in which case the data will be stored until the case is finally concluded.
